ROOTS OF SARKOS
A Hands-on Exercise in Direction-less Development
Working on Roots of Sarkos was, if nothing else, a really unique development experience. As a product of Warren Spector's Denius-Sams Gaming Academy, the goal of the project and the program as a whole was to provide participants with an opportunity to get hands-on leadership experience in game development. To that end, every two weeks we would swap out the creative director and lead producer until everyone in the program had a turn. As you can imagine, this made for an occasionally shifting creative direction on the project.
